Celebrating the Way Wink Inspired So Many People in the Craft Community

I was so shocked and sad to hear that Wink had taken her own life. Shocked, and I guess not shocked in a small way, because the way that Wink and I first connected was when she shared her own story with me for my book, Crochet Saved My Life. Although it seemed online like she had been doing well until recently, I know from the information we shared with each other, that depression had been a part of her life for so long. Her story is not so different from my own.

I've written a post on my blog celebrating her work, with the pictures I've posted on the blog in the past and the way that this has affected me. http://www.crochetconcupiscence.com/2015/06/shock-sadness-fear-thinking-about-you-wink-a-creative-being/

Here in this spot I just want to say that she touched many, many, many lives. She has inspired so many people, including myself. She was an important voice in the craft community. I'm so sad that she was unable to win the fight with depression. I send so much loving energy to her family, friends and the online community that she is a part of.
