Wink's crochet blog helped me through grueling medical school and my own fight with depression. I was learning to knit and stumbled across her Christmas lights pattern and then her blog. This inspired me to crochet and I thoroughly enjoyed reading her blog, it was one of the very few that I ever read. I enjoyed it so much I signed up for emails, looking forward to getting them in my inbox. I suffered through depression, but none of my friends or family members knew that I also suffered suicidal thoughts. Wink's beautiful colorful work helped me through that dark lonely period of my life. I'm now a psychiatrist and get to take care of the most underserved and misunderstood patients, those with mental illness. I'm so sorry that depression took Wink's life. I never knew her, I so desperately wished I had. My prayers go out to her family and loved one's, I'm so very sorry for your loss. She is missed by so many people.
